Guru, the six-petaled daisy blooms again with Gianluca Sessarego
by Erica Vagliengo
The new e-commerce site of Guru, represented by the petal captured in the iconic flower, has just opened. Gianluca Sessarego (pictured), class of 1966, founder of Ghep, a clothing brand and company based in Monte Carlo, is the man who is spearheading this rebirth.
The daisy brand, registered with patents worldwide Italian at least 62 titles, with many affairs on its shoulders (not all known to the public), is back in the playful and pop mood, putting back into circulation some garments that became immediately iconic and offering a complete range, with homewear and Active Balance.
It speaks, six petals: color, positivity, versatility, iconicity, love and sustainability, which return to define the lifestyle soul of the brand, along with capsules inspired by emotions and musical and sports movements. The logo has remained unchanged, but stylized and in a contemporary monochromatic version, to be mixed with pastel tones and solid colors, in a visual game that creates visual connections and memories, more than just fashion pairings. The palette moves on bright and pastel tones, with black and white dominating and pink pink acting as a common thread and contrast in basic and more tailored garments, in jersey or organic cotton.
The relaunch starts with an exclusive event at the end of March involving an Italian reality between music and sport, with the participation of Bob Sinclar and a team of professional riders and ambassadors. A team strongly linked to the territory of northwestern Italy.
After the event and presentation in Prato Nevoso on April 19, the brand is ready for the summer launch of capsules and the resumption of distribution in international stores and corners, as well as being available on the official website.
Upcoming events include an Italian tour, which will touch more than 20 cities for the summer, a return to sports activities with signature technical capsules, a new Active line, the launch of Homewear and the 100% Kids collection.
Sessarego, in closing, emphasizes, “We want to give back an identity to the brand, which, while being pop, has a strong cultural and visual soul, with a storytelling made of images, emotions and artistic collaborations. Guru returns with the same spirit as in the past, but with a new contemporary and timeless vision, and a colorful, curated, sustainable collection.”
